Reminiscent of the old Defender Vari-Lour paper, Perfecta possesses a "liquid silver" shimmer that is not seen in other papers.

This product is expensive for us to carry - because of the quality control involved; the consistency from batch to batch. Still we've priced it below Elegance.

Perfecta is a variable contrast, neutral tone Chloro-Bromide paper developed for Fine Art Photo Supply. It is capable of rich blacks and beautifully separated high values. Perfecta is enlarging speed, but also well suited to contact printing.

Though manufactured with new technology (fabricated grain and sensitizing dyes), Perfecta is modeled on the old Defender "Vari-lour" paper. While providing deep, inky blacks on a very bright white paper base, Perfecta obtains more delicate local contrast within its print tones; and the color, while very definitely neutral, is not so cold that it's frigid and "untouchable". Among its other attributes are:

1) Perfecta has a silvery, shimmery quality that is especially beautiful for subjects like portraits and landscape. In my own work I often prefer it because, while it's a strong paper, it isn't harsh.

2) A strong low contrast element in the paper. Unlike many VC papers, Perfecta can achieve blacks with softer contrast filters.

3) Perfecta has its own proprietary developer - Perfecta-D, a highly concentrated liquid. This obtains cool, brilliant prints at a 1:10 dilution.

4) Dead-on consistency from emulsion batch to emulsion batch, in terms of tone color, speed, etc. Much better in this regard than Elegance, for example.

5) A surface which will show a soft sheen when wet, will dry to a brilliant gloss. The surface too is not excessively hard, or "harsh."

6) Any manufacturer's variable contrast filters may be used.

In the quest for a superior, pristine photographic paper for Fine Art Photographers, we feel we have found it. Perfecta is equal to, or better quality than any paper currently available. Certainly in terms of quality control in manufacture, there is nothing better. Despite this, we are pricing it below Elegance.
